Dr. B Chennakesava Rao graduated in B.E. from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and Post Graduate M.E in Production Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

He was awarded Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Dr. Chennakesava Rao served as Faculty of MECH Dept., and as Principal for 11 years at CBIT, Hyderabad. Under his leadership the institute got Sanction of Rs.4.00 crores project by MHRD supported with the assistance of World Bank under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme – Phase –II Sub Component 1.1and CBIT has been recognized as well performed Institute.

He is instrumental in setting an Incubation Centre - a Hyderabad-based technology start-up, in the discipline of modern product development. This entails various activities such as technological innovation, acquiring IP, defining products, software architecture, design and coding, testing.

He is currently working as Director Advancement & Dean Admin in VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology and taking care of all the Research and Administrative activities.

Dr. Chennakesava Rao has 38 years of Teaching/R & D experience, and has 20 technical publications He has guided 10 PG & 60 UG Projects. He successfully organized more than 50 Workshops/Seminars/Conferences. He acted as expert committee member in various NAAC accreditation visits.

He is a Life Member of ISTE (India), and Life Member of ISME.
