Dr. Rajendra Prasad Somineni is Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, and a Senior Member of IEEE. He has published 65 research papers in various international and national journals and conferences. He served as the Principal Investigator for a consultancy project funded by Ananth Technologies Ltd., Hyderabad, titled “Design and Implementation of GNSS Receiver in Zynq SoC,” valued at Rs. 8 lakhs and carried out from 2023 to 2025.

He was also the Co-Principal Investigator of a project funded by ITRA, Digital India Corporation (formerly Media Lab Asia), MeitY, New Delhi, titled “Development of Effective Wireless Sensor Network System for Water Quality and Quantity Monitoring (AquaSense),” worth Rs. 33 lakhs. This project was conducted from January 2014 to December 2018 in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad and IIIT Hyderabad. Additionally, he has served as a Guest Editor for the International Journal of Sensors and Sensor Networks.

He is currently working as Dean - Administration in VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology

Dr. Somineni has contributed extensively as a reviewer for numerous reputed journals published by IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, and IETE. His research interests include low power VLSI, circuit design using emerging technologies, non-volatile SRAM cell design, in-memory computing, radiation-hardened memory design, quantum communication, embedded systems, GNSS receivers, and wireless sensor networks. He serves as a Board of Studies member for four autonomous colleges and is actively involved in academic and institutional activities related to NAAC, NBA, NIRF, UGC-Autonomous status, ARIIA, AICTE approval, and JNTUH affiliation processes.
