M. Tech. (Power Electronics) Course details






About the Institute:

V.N.R Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology has started functioning from the academic year 1995-1996
with the permission of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Andhra Pradesh.
All the courses offered by the institute are affiliated to J.N.T.U, Hyderabad. The V.N.R Vignana Jyothi Institute
of Engineering & Technology is located in Vignana Jyothi Nagar,near Bachupally village,Ranga Reddy district, about
8 kilometers from Miyapur junction on Bombay highway, along inner ring road and is about 6 kilometers from J.N.T.U,
Kukatpally,via Pragathi Nagar.The institute campus has an area of 7.33 hectares. An exclusive PG Block well equipped
with class rooms, laboratories,computer centers, seminar halls-class room, faculty rooms ,etc?have been constructed
to cater the needs of six PG Programs.

About the Department:
The department offers B.Tech courses in EEE and M.Tech courses in Power Electronics. The department is having the following well equipped laboratories for the UG programme:

About the Course:
The department of EEE has started a two year M.Tech programme in ?Power Electronics? from the academic year 2003-2004, with an annual intake of 18 students. The lab also provides internet facility with 2Mbps leased line from BSNL.The syllabus is designed to cater to the contemporary requirements of the industry by handling courses like Machine Modelling analysis,Analysis of Power convertors,Power electronics drives and FACTS systems. The programme is conducted in the PG building of the college with the required class rooms, labs seminar halls.

Eligibility Criteria:

BE/BTech in EEE
Mode of Selection:

(i) Admission shall be based on GATE percentile.
(ii) Sponsored candidates shall be treated as Non GATE candidates and five seats for this category.
(iii) Vacancies arising in seats allotted for GATE passed candidates will be filled up by the Non GATE candidates. The selection of Non GATE candidates is based on the performance in the interview.

A stipend of Rs8,000/- p.m may be sanctioned by A.I.C.T.E for candidates with GATE score admitted under General & SC/ST category.
